The magnetic chuck is 2.5"x12" and I used the Neodymium bar magnets from Amazon measuring 60mm long, 10mm wide & 3mm thick. I milled the slots about 5mm deep, so the magnets are below the table surface. And they are epoxied in. The parts are a combination of 6061 & 7075 t6 Billet.

Probably not noticeable in a tapered tang, but I’m sure very noticeable in something like a folder. 24-03-2021· If you need to maintain +/- 0.0015" flatness, a real surface grinder is needed. Then there are the various surface grinding attachments for belt grinders. Travis Wuertz, OBM, and KMG all make those now. They are not cheap by any means, and they may or may not be able to hold that 0.0015" accuracy.

I agree with this and want to find a used or purchase the Travis Wuertz kmg grinder attachment, though it's very expensive. However I also feel I really need a mill for everything from precise drilling, milling pockets in folders etc.
